Our Values
Mission Kids is a values-based programme.
Our three core values are…
Family & friends
We value children and their parents. We value and recognise the family as the central and most important influence on the life of the child. We will endeavour in every way to support families so as to enable them to maintain and build nurturing relationships with all family members. In today's modern New Zealand, family life has been strained by longer working hours and other pressures. At Mission Kids, we want to help by providing a service that returns a child to his/her parents by 6:00pm having done some homework, enjoyed some play time and participated in a value adding activity.
People & programmes
We believe there is a big difference between teaching knowledge and skills to children in an after school programme and developing their characters. Character is not easily taught – rather it is caught from those with whom we spend our time. Our programmes are designed to develop children in knowledge and ability and to give them an environment of acceptance and care wherein they can develop character. Our supervisors and assistants are selected and trained with a strong emphasis on personal character.

Leadership for life
We believe that true leaders are people of influence focussed on serving others. This is a core value for us which we aim to apply in our service to the school, to parents and to the greater community. Not only do our staff leaders exemplify this, but also our desired influence on the children is to provide opportunities for them to become servant-hearted, others-focused people.
